Hello again!!

Welcome 2011!  We started ours with our first 'family' camping trip.  We took the safe option of camping at a gorgeous site, just ten minutes down the road.  Was a good thing really, as I forgot cutlery, spare bedding(we had a nappy leak), light, deck chairs.... I made a few trips home to collect items and feed cat/water garden.  Will definitely write a list before we head anywhere farther a field.  It was a great wee break, it felt a lot longer than the five nights it was and we feel refreshed and relaxed.

I love the start of a new year.  I feel it's kind of closure on anything not so nice about the previous year, and a chance to start the new year with renewed optimism and motivation. It's going to be a fantastic year for us all!

I like to ponder what new projects I'd like to tackle, and I have quite a few ideas. I would like to master crochet, and have a go at quilting. I sewed a very basic skirt for Poppet the other week, but would like to do more challenging clothes for her.   My husband bought me this book for Christmas. It's got some great patterns for bags, kids clothes/toys etc...  I Love it.

I usually have some resolutions in the back of my mind.  You know, the usual... exercise more (does typing count?), be more patient (doesn't come easily), try more recipes (I always fall back on the easy favourites) etc... Perhaps I should post some in a blog to be more publicly accountable,  but truthfully, I like the opportunity to fail them quietly when I've lost interest.

Here is a blog putting her new years resolution out there, Black Out 2011, will follow a year of no more black clothing, footwear or accessories.  I love black and wear a lot of it, but it is the safe option and means I probably don't get as creative with my clothing as I would if it was banished.  However, I'm not brave enough to remove it, but I look forward to following the challenge, good luck!

See you back here soon

Sarah :)

  3. that book looks really great- you're lucky...i have to buy my own craft books and tell my hubby its his christmas pressie to me! i love the start of a new year too for just the same reasons, it's a great time of year isn't it. I had a goal last year to wear more colourful clothing, pretty much everything I wear is black, grey or white but i've got to admit i didn't have huge success in that!
