This weeks flea market finds were all from the same garage sale. It was a bit out of the way, but advertised 'collectibles', well say no more, I was on my way. It didn't prove as exciting as I hoped, but I did get the gorgeous old frame, pictured top. I initially planned to spray it black, but now I'm not so sure. I also quite like it left empty, would look good as part of a collection of pictures, including my favourite little hydrangea print. Oh and the shoe lasts were a garage sale score a few years back. The painting is one of my mothers, isn't she clever?
I also got a stash of old childrens records, mainly little golden book ones, so they have the story books too, so cute.

Ooh I like the frame, it's quite hard to find a good one like that. I guess it depends what you put in the frame which might dictate whether you paint it or not.
ReplyDeleteThe frame is just beautiful and looks great with all your other lovely things.
ReplyDeletei can't help it but my eye keeps wandering back to the painting in the back. that was not in the garage sale, i take it? it looks good!

i love your frame, i am so indecisive when it comes to these things. i would leave it as is for a while, then i'd pop a picture in and live with some more and finally i'd probably paint it:) it looks great right where it is too. your mum is super clever. LOVE the painting.
ReplyDeleteGreat frame - and yes, your Ma is indeed clever. I remember listening to storybook records when I was a kid ...
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your Mum's painting. Please tell her for me.
ReplyDeleteI would keep the frame the same, but I love dusty old vintageness :)
