Flea market finds...

It's been a while since I've joined in with flea market finds, mainly because it's just not so easy to quickly duck into my favourite op shops and they're generally not well spaced for bulky strollers.  So when I do get the opportunity to, I love it!  We recently visited Wellington, my hometown, and as well as getting to catch up with some great friends and family, I got a couple of trips to Jackson Street, Petone.  It's fabulous, if you didn't know that already.  Many years ago I rented a flat above a restaurant there, I loved it, apart from the cold Wellington southerlies blowing through the old windows.  Jackson st has really changed since those days (not the southerlies) and has some great op shops, antique shops, baby stores and cafes.

My favourite purchase was the truck from a vintage store, I love it as a display piece and have wanted something similar for quite some time, it's been a popular toy too.  The retro handmade (unfinished) quilt was a Salvation Army score, spotted by my equally keen op shopping cousin.  I'm thinking a pink candy stripe binding for it, cute!  From the same Salvos, I found some inhabitants for Poppet's dolls house.  As you can see,  they've really made themselves at home.  I love the red hair. Poppet's Gran and many of my relatives are red heads, so I have a soft spot for them.  They are in desperate need of a bit of 'Trinny and Suzannah' styling though, not their best colours at all.

Hope you've had a lovely weekend and are enjoying a relaxing Sunday evening.  It's all quiet in my house, Poppet was actually asking to go to bed.  If only Coro were on again...

  1. As the mother of a red head I am rather partial to those little dollies myself. And I love your old truck too x
