Merry Christmas...

I did a swap with Stella for one of her lovely portraits, and am so pleased with the result.  Poppet saw it, and exclaimed "Mummy... Me, Rara", she was obviously as pleased as we were.  'Rara', is her well loved toy lion, who I also attempted to replicate for her second birthday last weekend.  The likeness isn't quite as good as Stella's, but she was recognised... and delicious!  Recipe here.

Well this is my last wee post for the year.  I wish you all a fantastic Christmas and safe holidays.   Thanks to everyone who has read my blog over the year, shared comments, thoughts and inspiration, and a big thanks to all who have purchased MissMollyCoddle shoes, I hope they're getting loads of wear and compliments.

See you back here in 2012!

Christmas crafting of the cutest kind...

I know it's not very modest of me, but... I do believe this is the cutest stocking ever made! It has everything I love, red polka dot, turquoise, ric rac and my adorable belle and boo Christmas fabric.  It seems I was very lucky to purchase this fabric, as I read on their blog that it sold out for the second time, and I can see why, it's adorable.  So far I've made Poppet's stocking, some cute bunting (with my favourite candy stripe binding) and some Christmas shoes.  I've got a wee bit left, but am all crafted out, so I'll keep it for next year.  I also made the super easy, super cute, red felt ornament, you can find the tutorial here.  The rugby decoration is this years purchase from our local Santa shop, a tradition I've started as I thought it would be fun for kids to pick a new one each year.  We'll always know this year because of the world cup connection.

I've had one of my weekly midwife appointments today, followed by a surge in nesting urges!  So best I get off here and start cleaning, would be nice to see through my windows this summer.

I'll be back later this week with one last post for the year.

We have a winner...

What a fantastic response to my baby shoe giveaway.  Tha nks so much to everyone that entered, and for all your kind comments.  I wish every comment could win a pair, though the thought of sewing 102 pairs truly exhausts me! I tried to respond personally to as many as possible, if I didn't to yours and your expecting (as so many were), all the best for the upcoming birth and those precious (yet challenging) first few months.  I entered loads of giveaways and am just sitting back waiting for my winning emails... and waiting... and waiting... oh well, if I don't win it was great fun discovering a whole load of new blogs, from which I'm anticipating great inspiration in the new year. I'm sure I'll be reading loads during those initial long night feeds.

I used random.org to draw the winner, number 86, Megan from mousehouse!  Congratulations Megan.  Megan has a fantastic blog, if you haven't seen it yet (you've probably seen THE doll house) you must check it out, gorgeous.   I cannot work out how to copy the number generator to post here, though I'm figuring it must be quite simple, as I see heaps of blogs have done so.

MissMollyCoddle's newspaper debut...

Check it out! Miss Molly Coddle made it in the 'local rag' today.  Pretty cute pair, and humorous article by the lovely Esther Evans.  She may deserve a wee pair herself for this.

Finally...

Phew... finally finished, and with only a few weeks to go before my niece is due to arrive .  I'm actually a wee bit embarrassed by it's wonkyness, and how long it's taken to finish.  I first posted about wanting to make it here, and then there was some progress here, now over a year later it's done.  Lets just say, I won't be in a hurry to do a double one.  I promise I'll take more care with my precious wee niece, than I have with my tension, the squares have gotten progressively larger. But, it's made with lots of love for the dear wee Poppet, and the colours look GORGEOUS!

To see more crochet and other creative endeavours, pop over here.  My favourites this week were this and this.

ps. just a few more days only to enter my giveaway, good luck.
